Noted drummer Rumi passes away

Rumi Rahman, a popular drummer in Bangladesh, passed away at his home in capital’s Dhanmondi area on Monday (July 11). He was 45.

Confirming the matter, Barsha Chowdhury, wife of the drummer said, although, Rumi was suffering from asthma but he was quite fit. He started feeling sick at 4:00am. Later, he was taken to hospital where doctor declared him dead.

Rumi was one of the founding members of music band Aurthohin and an integral part of its debut album Trimatrik.

He also played with bands like The Trap, Ark, Dalchhut, Aranyak and Symphonium.
