Actor Masum Aziz passes away

Ekushey Padak winning actor and dramatist Masum Aziz has passed away. 

He breathed his last at 2:45 pm in the capital’s Square Hospital on Monday (October 17) while he was undergoing treatment. 

Ghulam Quddus, president of Sammilita Sangskritik Jot, confirmed the matter.

Apart from cancer, Masum Aziz had been suffering from heart diseases for long days. In 2017, he was diagnosed with four blocks in his heart and underwent surgery.

Masum Aziz was taken to life support on Thursday evening as his condition deteriorated. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Ghulam Quddus said Masum Aziz’s body will be kept in Square Hospital. The body will be taken to the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. People from all walks of life will pay their respects there organized by the Combined Cultural Alliance. However, no decision has been made regarding his burial yet.
