Got courage from Gazipur city polls, says Hero Alom

YouTuber Ashraful Hossen Alom, popularly known as Hero Alom, has declared to contest the upcoming Dhaka-17 by-polls.
The constituency became vacant following the death of MP Akbar Hossain Pathan, popularly known as Farooq, on 15 May this year.
He Alom collected the nomination paper from the Election Commission (EC) office on Monday (June 5) afternoon.
At that time, he told the media that he wanted to complete the unfinished works of MP Akbar Hossain Pathan alias Farooq.
Hero Alom said, “I want to do Farooq Bhai’s unfinished works. As I love media, I will be somewhat blessed if I can do even one unfinished work of Farooq bhai. All in all, I want to contest the by-polls in Dhaka-17 constituency.”
Dhaka-17 Constituency consists of Gulshan, Banani, Bhashantek Thana and Cantonment area. This area is known as the elite area of the capital. When asked about reaching out to the voters, Hero Alom said, “I got courage after seeing the Gazipur city corporation elections. This election will be fair. That is why I am participating in this election. I think people will vote for me considering my honesty.”
According to the scheduled announced by the Election Commission, Dhaka-17 by-polls will be held on July 17.
Mentionable, Hero Alom earlier contested the by-elections of Bogura-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) and Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituencies held on February 1. He lost in both seats.
