Afzal Hossain returns home from hospital

Renowned actor Afzal Hossain has returned home from the hospital as his health condition improved.

Afzal, who was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2022, returned to his residence on Sunday (September 10).

Confirming this to risingbd, Director Shihab Shaheen said, “Afzal bhai is now completely in good health. He returned home Sunday last at the advice of doctors. Doctors advised him to take rest for a week.” 

Due to suffering from pneumonia, Afzal Hossain was taken to a private hospital back on September 4. His condition was so severe that the doctors had to keep him in Critical Care Unit (CCU). He was shifted to a cabin the following day.

Afzal has recently won the best actor award for web-series in Channel i Digital Media Award 2022 held last Saturday. The actor was supposed to join Shihab Shaheen’s new project “Baba Someone Following Me”, shot on September 5.

Afzal started his acting career in theatrical productions in the mid-1970s. He has recently completed shooting for a few films, including “Japito Jibon” and “Oporajeyo”. The veteran actor has also been featured in several OTT productions.
