Footballer Ritu Porna suffers head injury, gets three stitches

Bangladesh women’s football team’s member Ritu Porna Chakma suffered head injury in a collision with an overhead banner during the team’s open-top bus parade on Wednesday (September 21).

Team manager Amirul Islam confirmed the news to risingbd.

He said, “She suffered a little bump on the head. We took her down from the bus and took in a separate vehicle (ambulance) for treatment and brought her to BFF (Bangladesh Football Federation) Bhaban. Now she is fine.”
It was known that she was then whisked off to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). She received three stitches on the head.

After defeating Nepal, SAFF Champion Bangladesh to Dhaka at 1:45 pm on Wednesday. State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell and BFF delegation welcomed them in the airport. From there, the girls proceeded towards BFF Bhaban by an open-top bus. There was a convoy of visitors including media workers.
