Obaidul Quader’s condition improving

Staff Correspondent: The condition of ailing Road Transport and Bridges Minister and ruling Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader’s health condition is improving.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU)’s Doctor Abu Naser Rizvi has said this about his treatment's upadates, according to a press release sent by the ministry on Tuesday.

Director Dr Abu Naser Rizvi, who staying beside the ailing politician in Singapore, said Mount Elizabeth Hospital doctors found infections in his kidneys and he could be fit for the surgery once the infections were contained.

“They (doctors) are thinking to carry out a bypass surgery in his heart after controlling the infections . . . his condition, however, is stable now and gradually improving,” Rizvi said.

The medical board of the hospital said that they would undergo a bypass surgery in next week, according to the press release.

Quader was flown to Singapore on Monday after his condition stabilised.

Earlier on Sunday, Quader was hospitalised following breathing problems post-Fazr hours. He was diagnosed with three blocks in the heart. While undergoing treatment at the hospital, Quader underwent another heart attack.
