Iran Press/ West Asia: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh has announced his resignation from the government, which rules parts of the occupied West Bank, due to the escalating violence in the occupied territory and the war on Gaza.

“The decision to resign came in light of the unprecedented escalation of violence against Palestinian people in the West Bank and al-Quds and the war on Gaza, genocide of Gazans and starvation of people in the Gaza Strip,” said Shtayyeh, who submitted his resignation to Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday.

After announcing the resignation from the government, Shtayyeh emphasized: "Despite the unprecedented siege imposed on us, we remain loyal to the martyrs and prisoners, our people in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian National Project, Al-Quds, our saints and heroes.

He continued: "We faced challenges, none of which were of our own making, and we suffered many hardships because Palestine was worth these hardships."_Agencies.
