Saudi Arabia to celebrate Eid on Wednesday 

Saudi Arabia will celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday (April 10) as the Shawwal crescent was not sighted Monday. 

The kingdom announced that Tuesday (9 April) would be the last day of Ramadan.

Responding to that call, millions of Muslims in the country turned their gaze to the western sky after the Maghrib prayer. 

Shortly afterwards, the Saudi Supreme Court said that the Shawwal moon had not been sighted. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday.
