Flares over Qatar’s Doha, explosions heard

Explosions were heard in Doha after a ‘credible threat’ of an Iranian missile attack on a US-run airbase in Qatar.

It was not immediately known on Monday if this was the air defence system or missiles.

This comes as Iran said it would retaliate against the United States strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

Qatar has temporarily closed its airspace and US and UK citizens have been advised to shelter in place.

Iran is weighing a response to Saturday's US strikes on its nuclear facilities, which Donald Trump says caused "monumental damage".
