Just two days after the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Iran, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the country's Defense Minister, traveled to China to attend the two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization Defense Ministers' Meeting and meet and discuss with his counterparts.
The foreign trip of the Iranian Defense Minister on the second day of the ceasefire between the country and Israel, in addition to showing Tehran's optimism that the ceasefire will last, comes at a time when criticism of Iran's military and defense institutions is rising, with questions being raised about how the country easily lost control of its skies in the first.
According to a statement from the Chinese ministry of defense, Minister Dong held meetings on the sidelines of the summit with his counterparts from SCO member states, including Iran’s Nasirzadeh, Belarus’ Viktor Khrenin, Pakistan’s Khawaja Asif, Kyrgyzstan’s Ruslan Mukambetov, and Russia’s Andrei Belousov._Agencies.
