As part of the operation, Indian officials are carrying out stringent document screening to detect people living in India with forged identification documents.

An operation was conducted from Vadodara Air Force Station on a special Indian Air Force plane, in the backdrop of stringent security measures.

In the massive crackdown, 250 illegal Bangladeshi nationals were repatriated from Gujarat to Dhaka.

In order to carry out the operation safely, stringent security arrangements were made. The hands of all the Bangladeshi nationals were cuffed while handing them over to avoid any untoward incidents. They were escorted by the police in buses from various regions of the state to the airport.

The move is part of a statewide drive against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants settled in Gujarat.

In the past two months, over 1,200 Bangladeshi nationals who lived illegally in the state have been detected and sent out.

The state government, in cooperation with central security agencies, is heightening efforts to depart all unauthorised foreign citizens.

The operation has been highly active in the big urban areas such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot. These cities have witnessed a palpable rise in the number of illegal migrants, leading police and intelligence agencies to increase surveillance and verification.

Most of the arrested people had forged Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and other identification documents in their possession.
Based on local intelligence and reports from surveillance, police squads have conducted several raids in suspected neighborhoods. These operations have arrested hundreds of illegal aliens over the past few weeks.
