Qatar says Arab nations cutting ties 'unjustified'

International Desk: Qatar's Foreign Ministry reacted on Monday to the news that several Arab countries cut diplomatic ties with Doha calling the action "unjustified."

"The measures are unjustified and are based on claims and allegations that have no basis in fact," the ministry said in a statement.

Qatar added the move is a "violation of its sovereignty."

Earlier, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain announced they have severed ties with Qatar over its alleged support of terrorism.

The action comes after WikiLeaks released emails between Hillary Clinton and her campaign manager John Podesta which claimed the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee knew that Qatari and Saudi Arabian governments were "providing clandestine financial and logistic support" to the Islamic State.
