Trump calls himself Israel’s “best friend”

Israel has never had a better friend in the White House, President Trump told a national conference on Israeli-US relations in South Florida on Saturday night.

In a keynote speech before the Israeli-American Council National Summit in Hollywood, Fla., Trump boasted of the killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and of his administration’s controversial move of the US embassy to  Jerusalem, the Miami Herald reported.

“The Jewish state has never had a better friend in the White House than your president, Donald J. Trump,” Trump told the cheering group in his half-hour speech before its meeting at the Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood.

He began the speech by condemning the Friday shooting at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, where three young Navy students were slain by a berserk pilot-in-training from the Saudi Royal Air Force.

He repeatedly criticized liberals and President Barack Obama, despite the group being non-partisan.

“So many of you voted for people in the last administration,” Trump said at one point, the Herald reported. _Agencies
