A massive fire engulfed a hotel in Makkah of Saudi Arabia, killing at least eight Pakistani pilgrims and injuring six.
A statement from the Foreign Office of Pakistan disclosed this on Saturday.
According to media reports, the fire broke out in a room on the third floor of a hotel located on Ibrahim Khalil Road in Makkah on Saturday due to a short circuit and soon spread to other rooms.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident, offering his condolences to the bereaved families.
“The Prime Minister prayed for the highest ranks for the departed souls and for the families to bear the loss with fortitude,” the PM Office Media Wing said.
