Many BNP leaders secretly getting ready for elections: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has claimed that many leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are secretly taking preparations for the next general elections. They are secretly contacting to different places for this.

The Road Transport and Bridges Minister came up with the remarks while speaking a rally as the chief guest in the capital’s Mirpur on Friday (June 16).

He said, “Many parties will take part in the next general elections.  BNP will also participate. There will be no shortage of parties in the elections. The elections must be held in the country despite how conspiracies are made by BNP.”

The Awami League General Secretary said, “BNP aware of their fear of defeating the next national parliament. That’s why they want to question the polls. They appoint lobbyists with money. Where do they get so much money?

Bangladesh elections won’t be prevented by someone’s visa policy or sanctions, Quader said.

He said, “We do not interfere on anyone and also do not expect in our elections from outside. We are going to hold through following rules and regulations. Sheikh Hasina will remain polls-time government chief during the elections.”

Raising a question, Quader said, “If there is any country where parliament dissolves before elections? Why in Bangladesh? Parliament will be dissolved after the elections. We have a constitution. We will continue as per the constitution. Do not follow anyone’s advice. Observers can be sent to see how the election is going. The people of the country are confident about the elections. Don’t get confused by BNP’s words about the elections.”

He said that the BNP is now on the march. This march will eventually turn into a descent. BNP has no other way.
