4-member EU election expert arrives Wednesday

A four-member European Union election monitoring mission will arrive in Bangladesh on Wednesday (November 29).

European Union office in Dhaka officials confirmed the matter.

Foreign Ministry sources said although the team will arrive in Dhaka today, the delegation will start their two-month mission in Bangladesh from Sunday.

EU communicated to Bangladesh that they were not sending a full-fledged election observation mission. Earlier, in a letter, the alliance of 27 countries of Europe, announced the decision to the Election Commission on September 20.

The EU team will hold a joint meeting with the Election Commission (EC) this afternoon on sending observers to the National Parliamentary elections.
