BNP leader Shahjahan joins AL, gets nomination

BNP Vice Chairman Shahjahan Omar Bir Uttam has joined Awami League and submitted his nomination paper as AL candidate from Jhalakathi-1 constituency.
Shahjahan Omar revealed this information himself at a press conference in the city’s Panthapath on Thursday.
Awami League Office Secretary Biplob Barua confirmed the news.
Shahjahan Omar submitted his nomination papers online for Jhalakathi-1 constituency on Thursday.
Assistant returning office for Jhalakathi-1 constituency and UNO also confirmed the news.
Shahjahan Omar was elected member of parliament on BNP ticket in 1979, 1991, 1996 and 2001.
He served as state minister for law and state minister for land during BNP tenure.
