OCs-UNOs being transferred based on field level information

The Election Commission (EC) has directed to transfer all Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) and OCs of all police stations in phases.

About the transfer, Election Commission Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said that their transfer would be carried out on the basis of field level information.  There will be no problem will occur due to the transfer.

He came up with the remark in responding to a question from journalists at the Election Commission Secretariat at Agargaon in the city on Saturday (December 2).

The Election Commission is taking measures for the security of all candidates including the independent candidates, he said.

A total of 29 parties out of 44 registered-political parties of EC are participating in the election, said Ashok Kumar Debnath.

A total of 2,712 candidates have filed nomination papers against 300 parliamentary seats across the country to contest the 12th parliamentary election slated for January 7, 2024, he said.
