EC recommends transferring 47 UNOs

The Election Commission (EC) has recommended transferring 47 Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) of eight divisions aiming to hold the upcoming 12th general election in free and fair manner.

The commission made the recommendation in a letter sent to the senior secretary of the public administration ministry on Monday.

Ashok Kumar Debnath, additional secretary to the Election Commission (EC), confirmed the news.

Names of 20 UNOs have arrived for approval. A total of more than 250 UNOs will be transferred. Besides, as many as 320 OCs will be transferred, he said.

Earlier, the EC instructed the ministry of home affairs and the ministry of public administration about the transfer of officers-in-charge (OCs) and UNOs.
