12 BNP men jailed in sabotage case

A court in Dhaka has sentenced 12 BNP leaders and activists to three years in jail each under two separate sections in a sabotage case filed five years ago.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam announced the verdict on Wednesday (December 6).

The convicts are Anwarul Azim, Haidar Ali Babla, Alauddin, Showkat, Parvej, Imran Hossain Emu, Syeed Ahmed Rana, Haji Farhad Rana, Arif Hossain Bappi, Fazlul Haque Moni, Haji Md Nazim Uddin and Md Sobhan.

Police filed the case with Kotwali Police Station against the BNP men in September in 2018 for allegedly conducting acts of sabotages.
