338 OCs transferred simultaneously

Police Headquarters has transferred a total of 338 officers-in-charge (OCs) simultaneously across the country ahead of the 12th parliamentary election.

An office order signed by Additional DIG Md Jahirul Islam was issued in this regard on Thursday night (December 7).

Earlier, on Thursday, the Police Headquarters made a proposal for transfer of the OCs at the directive of the Election Commission.

In a press briefing yesterday evening, EC secretary Md Jahangir Alam said the OCs have been transferred outside of their current constituencies in most of the cases.

On November 30, the Election Commission (EC) approved two proposals of Public Administration Ministry and the Police Headquarters (PHQ) to transfer 338 OCs and 158 Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) ahead of the 12th general election.
