2nd day of EC’s appeal hearing underway

The Election Commission (EC) started disposing of the appeals filed by aspiring candidates regarding the decision on acceptance of nomination papers for the 2024 national polls.

The appeal hearing started at Nirbachan Bhaban Auditorium around 10:00 am on Monday (December 11) for the second consecutive day. The hearing will continue till 4:00 pm. CEC Kazi Habibu Awal is presiding over the function.

On Sunday, the EC disposed a total of 94 appeals, of them, 56 got the EC's nod to participate in the upcoming election while 32 got rejected and six appeals were kept pending.

A total of 561 appeals were filed with the EC.

The Election Commission (EC) will hold appeal hearing on candidate's nomination paper submission till December 15.
