“Action to be taken if illegal stocks of onions found”

Director General (DG) of the National Consumers’ Right Protection Directorate AHM Shafikquzzaman said that the authority will take action if illegal stocks of onions are found anywhere in the country.

The DG said this after taking part in a program at Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Bhaban in the capital on Monday (December 11).

He said, we are gathering information about illegal onion hoarders through intelligence agencies. We will take action if illegal stock of onion is found anywhere in the country.

AHM Shafikquzzaman also said some certain reasons for the rise in onion prices have been identified, but some factors remain unknown. The drive is underway to check the market.
