Four dead bodies handed over to relatives

Bodies of four people, who were killed in the Benapole Express train fire at Gopibagh in the capital on January 5, have been handed over to their relatives.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) authorities said the bodies of the victims were kept at hospital and were handed over to their relatives on Thursday noon.

Officer-in-Charge of Dhaka Railway Thana (Kamalapur) Ferdous Ahmed Biswas handed over the bodies.

The deceased are Alina Yasmin, 44, in Rajbari, Abu Talha, 23, in Rajbari, Chandrima Chowdhury Soumi in Rajbari and Natasha Jiasmin Neki, 25, in old Dhaka. The bodies were identified through DNA tests. 

On the night of January 5, miscreants set fire to the Benapole Express train in Gopibagh, only two days before 12th national parliamentary election. 

After the incident, four charred bodies were recovered from the different compartments of the train and several injured were rescued.
