Vehicles directed to avoid the route from today

The renovation work at Postogola Bridge has started from today (February 22). The authorities said that additional traffic jams might occur on the routes to 21 districts including Dhaka during the repairing task.

The passengers travelling through the area have been urged to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion till March 8.

Following the issue, the representatives from seven organisations, including the traffic division of DMP, held a meeting at the DMP headquarters on Sunday (February 18).

Munibur Rahman, additional police commissioner of DMP's Traffic Department, said, "We have collaborated with relevant stakeholders to plan routes for heavy vehicles entering and exiting Dhaka. A public notice has been issued to communicate this information."
