144 more Bangladeshis return from Libya

144 Bangladeshi nationals, who were held at a detention centre in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, were repatriated to Bangladesh on Friday (February 23).

A chartered flight of Burak Airlines carrying the Bangladesh nationals landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) around 4:00 am.

A total of 1390 Bangladeshi citizens were returned home since July 2023. They were detained in various detention centers in Tripoli and Benghazi cities.

The officials from the foreign ministry and IOM Bangladesh welcomed the returnees at the airport.
