Bailey Road fire: Death toll climbs to 46

The death toll from the devastating blaze at Bailey Road's Green Cozy Cottage building has increased to 46 after another victim passed away under hospital care.

Mostafa Abdullah Al Noor, (Nezarat) Deputy Collector (NDC) in Dhaka confirmed the figure to reporters on Friday (March 1).

The health minister Dr Shamanta Lal Sen said that one more person died during treatment in the intensive care unit of Dhaka Medical ICU this morning. A total of 46 people died so far.

The death toll from the blazing inferno kept climbing through the night, and is likely to rise further.
