One lakh tonnes of sugar gutted in fire

Around one lakh tonnes of sugar have been gutted in the fire that broke out at the warehouse of S Alam Refined Sugar Industries located at Karnaphuli upazila of Chattogram district.

Officers of the mill said this on Monday night.

The fire originated around 4:15pm on Monday. 

Being informed, 13 firefighting units rushed to the spot and are trying to extinguish the blaze. But the fire could not be brought under control yet when the report was filed.
