Dr Yunus secures bail till May 23

Labour Appellate Tribunal has extended the bail of Nobel laureate Dr Yunus till May 23 in a case filed for violation of labour law.

MA Awal, Justice of the Labour Appellate Tribunal, passed the order on Tuesday morning (April 16).

Earlier this morning, Dr yunus and three others appeared before the Labour Tribunal and sought permanent bail.

Dr Yunus’s lawyer Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun filed the petition.

On January 1, the labour court sentenced Grameen Telecom Chairman Dr Yunus and three others to six months' jail for violating labour law. On January 28, four people, including Dr Yunus, secured bail.
