Record Tk7.78cr found in Pagla mosque`s donation boxes

The authorities collected Tk 7,78,67,537 after opening the donation boxes at the historic Pagla Mosque in Kishoreganj.

This sum has shattered all previous fundraising records for the mosque.

Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner and Pagla Mosque Committee President Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter around 2:00am on Sunday (April 21).

Alongside local currency, Dollar, Pound, Riyal, Dinar, Ringgit and gold ornaments were found in the donation boxes.

A team of 220 people joined the counting process. The nine boxes at the mosque were opened at 7:30am on Saturday after four months 10 days.

Earlier, on November 9, the authorities found cash Tk 6.32 crore in donation boxes in the mosque.
