Met office issues fresh 72-hr heat alert

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a 72-hour nationwide fresh heat alert saying the ongoing heatwave is expected to continue.

A press notification signed by meteorologist Md Bazlur Rashid confirmed the matter on Monday (April 22).

According to BMD, the prevailing heat over the country may continue during the next 72 hours commencing today.

Due to increasing moisture incursion, the discomfort may increase, it added.

Earlier, on Friday (April 19), Bangladesh Meteorological Department had issued a 72-hour heat alert nationwide as a heatwave is sweeping across the country.
