First hajj flight from Dhaka leaves for Jeddah

The first hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia with 413 hajj pilgrims in the early hours of Thursday (May 9).

Carrying the pilgrims, a flight of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:04am. Earlier, Minister of Religion Faridul Haque Khan inaugurated the flight.

Later, in the second flight of Bangladesh Biman, a total of 417 hajj pilgrims left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia at 7:20am.

According to the Ministry of Religion, on the first day, a total of seven flights will leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia.

83,311 pilgrims have completed registration for performing hajj this year. Of them, 4,416 will get the opportunity to perform hajj under the government management while the remaining 78,895 will perform hajj under private management.
