3rd phase: Voting underway in 87 upazilas

The third phase of the upazila parishad elections is underway in 87 upazilas across the country.

Balloting began at 8:00am. It will continue until 4:00pm on Wednesday (May 29).

Earlier, the Election Commission took preparation to hold the election in 109 upazilas in third phase. But voting in 22 upazilas declared postponed due to the cyclone Remal.

In this phase, the number of voters is over two crore. EVMs will be used in 16 upazilas. Around 58,000 police members have been deployed in this phase, according to the EC.
