Constable Monirul murder: Kawsar put on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed constable Kawsar Ali on a seven-day remand for killing his colleague constable Monirul Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shakil Ahmed passed the remand order on Sunday (May 9).

Earlier, investigation officer (IO) Sub-Inspector Md Mannaf of Gulshan police station produced him before the court seeking 10-day remand.

Constable Mahbubul Haque, brother of the victim filed the murder case with Gulshan police station.

On Saturday night, Monirul was killed and two pedestrians were wounded when policeman Kawsar opened fire near the Palestinian embassy in the capital's Baridhara.
