Govt announces 3-day public holiday from Monday

The government announced a three-day public holiday from Monday (August 5) to ensure public safety amid the ongoing violent protests across the country.

Abdullah Shibli Sadiq, public relations officer of the Ministry of Public Administration confirmed the matter on Sunday (August 4) afternoon.

Earlier, the government issued a curfew in all city corporations, municipalities, industrial areas, district sadars and upazila sadars, including Dhaka metropolis, from 6 pm on Sunday (August 4) until further notice.
