Ahsan H Mansur made Bangladesh Bank governor

Ahsan H Mansur, Executive Director of the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh, has been appointed as the new Governor of Bangladesh Bank.

The interim government appointed him for the next four years. He has become 13th governor of Bangladesh Bank.

Financial Institutions Division of the Finance Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday (August 13).

Dr Mansur completed his graduation in Economics from Dhaka University in 1974. He started his career as a lecturer, Department of Economics, Dhaka University the following year. During his long career at the IMF, Dr Mansur worked in Middle Eastern, Asian, African and Central American countries.
