Sheikh Hasina will be brought back to face trial

Mohammad Tajul Islam, the newly appointed chief prosecutor to the International Crimes Tribunal said that the main accused in most of the genocide cases, Sheikh Hasina, will be brought back to the country and tried before the tribunal.

He said this while addressing reporters at ICT tribunal on Sunday (September 8).

Tajul Islam said “Bangladesh has a criminal extradition treaty with India. She will be brought back to the country following that agreement.

In reply to a question, he also said that the biggest challenge right now is to preserve the evidence and bring it into the legal framework to prove the cases.
