Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has warned prison officers against taking bribes.
“Taking bribes will not be allowed and it should be stopped at any cost. There is no alternative to it,” he said while addressing a view exchange meeting with prison officers of Prisons Directorate located in the capital’s Bakshibazar on Monday (September 9) morning.
Pointing to the prison officials, the adviser said, “It is your main responsibility to ensure the security of the prison. Restore your honour without taking bribes. Because, taking bribes tarnishes the reputation of the individual as well as the organization.”
During the meeting, the adviser was apprised of various demands placed by the prison officials.
Jahangir Alam said it is possible to solve most of the problems of the prison through stopping bribes and corruption.
