Death toll from student movement crosses 700

Over 700 people lost their lives and 19,000 were injured during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Senior Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry MA Akmal Hossain Azad said this at a briefing in the conference room of the ministry at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

He further stated that a taskforce was formed to determine how many were injured or killed. This committee was formed under the leadership of a former senior health secretary.
