Former DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia at Mohakhali in the capital.

RAB legal and media wing confirmed the matter on Wednesday night (September 11).

RAB said he was arrested from Mohakhali flyover area and shown arrested in a case filed with Khilgaon police station. The elite force will hand over him to DB (Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s detective branch).

According to the case statement, Nuruzzaman Roni was killed in 2015 in police custody and his father filed a case with the Khilgaon police station on September 2. The case also named 13 police officers.
