Govt appoints 3 new special assistants with state ministerial rank

The interim government has appointed three special assistants equivalent to the state minister portfolio.
A gazette notification was issued from the cabinet division in this regard on Sunday night (November 10).
Those three are former inspector general of police Khuda Baksh Chowdhury, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sayedur Rahman and former Rajshahi University Professor Dr M Aminul Islam.
According to the notification, while holding the post of special assistant, they also have salary, allowances and benefits of a state minister.
They were entrusted with executive power to assist advisers for the ministries of home, health and family welfare and education, respectively.
