Prof Yunus exchanges greetings with world leaders

Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus is now in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to attend the United Nations Climate Conference for the first time after taking responsibility of the interim government. There he exchanged greetings with the world leaders in a welcoming atmosphere.
Governments and heads of state from different countries have expressed their elation to have this internationally recognized figure on the global platform in a new identity. He received warm congratulations on his first day of attending the conference.
Prof Yunus had brief interactions separately with a number of leaders as COP29, UN’s biggest climate conference, is underway.
Prof Yunus met with Prime Minister Daniel Risch of Liechtenstein, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan, President Mohamed Muizzu of the Maldives, President Denis Becriovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Global leaders and diplomats from across the world are joining the annual climate summit to discuss how to avoid increasing threats from climate change.
Prof Yunus is now on a four-day official visit to Baku to attend the global climate summit.
The chief adviser arrived in Baku by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines Flight around 5:15 pm local time yesterday (November 11).
He will attend various sessions of the COP29 and will speak a number of sidelines events.
Prof Yunus, who is leading a small delegation, is scheduled to return home on November 14.
