MP Anar murder: Daughter Dorin gives DNA sample in Kolkata

Anwarul Azim Anar, a three-time MP from Jhenaidah-4 and also president of Kaliganj upazila unit Awami League, went to India on May 12 on a personal visit to receive treatment. 

He went missing on May 13 after going out of his place of residence in Kolkata’s Borah Nagar area. Later, his body parts were recovered.  

The Criminal Investigation Department in West Bengal, India called murdered lawmaker’s youngest daughter Mumtarin Ferdous Dorin for DNA tests.  Dorin gave sample in last of November in Kolkata. 

The CID West Bengal recovered bones from a spot on the bank of a canal near Polerhat in North 24 Parganas around 15 kilometres away from the New Town apartment where Anar was reportedly murdered and his body was dismembered.

On May 28, the Kolkata CID recovered four kilogram of flesh from a septic tank of Sanjeeva Garden in Kolkata.

Lawmaker Anwarul’s daughter Mumtarin Ferdous Dorin filed a case on May 22 with the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police, alleging that her father was abducted with the intent of murder.
