Expatriates will receive MRP passports from Dec 15: Asif Nazrul

Asif Nazrul, adviser to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, has announced that expatriate workers will start receiving their Machine-Readable Passports (MRP) from December 15.

The adviser made the announcement through his verified Facebook page on Wednesday morning (December 11).

He said that a meeting was held on Tuesday with all concerned sectors. The Foreign and Home Affairs Advisors, officials of the Passport Department and all concerned people were present in that meeting. It was decided in the meeting that expatriates will start getting MRP from December 15.

A lot of passports have been printed. There will be no problems in the next two to three years following the steps of this government, he added.
