Ferry services halted on Chandpur-Shariatpur route

Ferry operations on the Chandpur-Shariatpur waterway were paused on Wednesday (January 22) due to dense fog.

The service on the route was temporarily disrupted at 2 am as visibility worsened.

BIWTC sources said that the fog intensified on Wednesday night, making ferry operations on the Chandpur-Shariatpur route risky. To prevent accidents, authority stopped the service temporarily.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Narsinghpur ferryghat assistant manager Md Iqbal Hossain confirmed the matter.
