Ex-Law Minister Anisul on 3-day remand

A Narayanganj court has granted a three-day remand for former Law Minister Anisul Huq in a murder case in the district’s Sonargaon upazila.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Noor Mohsin passed the order on Wednesday.
Police sought a five-day remand in connection with the murder of Ashik, who was killed during the anti-discrimination student movement.
On August 4 in 2024, worker Ashik Mia was shot on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Kanchpur, Sonargaon. Later, he died while undergoing treatment.
In this incident, Ashik Mia's mother Kulsum Begum filed a murder case with Sonargaon Police Station, naming 112 people including former Law Minister Anisul Huq and 300 unknown people as accused.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was named as the main accused in the case.
