Travel ban imposed on Ushwe Sing, family

A court in Dhaka has imposed a travel ban on former Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing, his wife May Hla Prue, and their children Ushwe Hai, Thowai Shai Wang, and May May Khing Venus.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Ghalib passed the order on Thursday (February 6).

ACC Assistant Director Md Abdul Malek filed a petition requesting a travel ban on the former minister and his family members.

According to the ACC, Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing is under investigation for allegedly abusing his power to amass assets worth crores of taka.
