Attack on Mozammel’s house: 5 injured taken to DMCH

Five of those injured after being attacked by locals when a mob allegedly vandalised the house of former Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur have been taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The injured were taken to the emergency department of the hospital around 1:30am on Saturday (February 8).
Those taken to DMCH are Sourav, 22, Yakub, 24, Hasan, 22, Kashem, 17, and Shuvo Shahriar, 16.
DMCH Police Camp Incharge (Inspector) Md. Farooq said, “Five injured people have been taken to the emergency department of the DMCH from Gazipur. They are now being treated.”
Earlier, at least 20 students were injured after being attacked by locals when a mob allegedly vandalised the house of former Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur.
The incident took place around 9:30 pm on Friday (February 7) in Dhirashram Dakshinkhan, Gazipur.
Local people said more than a hundred protesters, including students, stormed Mozammel Haque’s house, causing huge damage to the property.
During the attack, a mosque loudspeaker announcement alleged that robbers had entered the minister’s house, forcing locals to intervene. Upon hearing this, nearby residents cordoned off the house and locked into a clash with the attackers, beating several of them.
At least 20 students were critically injured and taken to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for treatment.
