Security beefed up in Supreme Court area

In view of the ongoing situation in the country, security has been beefed up in the Supreme Court area. 

RAB, police and army members have surrounded the Supreme Court area since 10 am on Saturday (February 8).

According to a law enforcement official, there is a statue of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman inside the Supreme Court. Security has been beefed up as a precautionary measure following a report that a mural may be vandalized on the High Court premises. 

Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur said security has been beefed up in the Supreme Court area. Additional personnel of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police and army have been deployed in the area.
