Operation to continue until devils are eliminated: Home adviser

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that the “Operation Devil Hunt,” a drive of the joint forces, will continue until the devils are exterminated from the country.

“Many suspects have been brought under the purview of law over the Gazipur incident. The operation will target those who are desperate to destabilize the country,” he said.

Jahangir Alam, also the agriculture adviser, made these comments while speaking to reporters after inaugurating the newly built Mrittika Bhaban at the Soil Resource Development Institute in the Khamarbari area of the city on Sunday (February 9).

He said: “We are working on the issue with top priority. As part of it, many of those who attacked students and citizens in Gazipur have already been brought to justice, and the rest will be arrested soon.”

The ministry took the move after the attack on students at the residence of former minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur on Friday night (February 7).

Following this, the government initiated the launch of “Operation Devil Hunt,” with joint forces beginning operations the following day.
